The Art of Creativity.
One of my fondest childhood memories was coloring with my Dad in my coloring books. I couldn't wait to break out my old lunch box filled with every crayon I had ever owned. Crayons varying in size, some with a point and most down to the nub. It didn't matter to me, as long as it had wax, I was coloring.
The best thing about being a multimedia designer is that you have all of these beautiful mediums at your fingertips to mix and match and create art that didn't exist before. It's the biggest crayon box you could ever wish for.
Design Meets Strategy
In 2015, I decided to go back to school to build on my skill set. I graduated in June 2020, with a Masters in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University. The IMC program heightened my senses as a designer.
I learned how important understanding the end user was and that design is just one aspect of the equation. Research and strategy also play a huge role in creating meaningful content. I found a new love for consumer insight, strategy, data and providing the most optimal experience for our customers. I enjoy researching and discovering what brings people joy and if it doesn't bring them joy, well then, how do we fix it so that it does?
It really is all about the customer, we have to have empathy and walk the journey with them. My goal is to create engaging accessible, UX experiences that are desirable and provide value to our customers.
